How to get the digital nomad visa in Portugal.

What is Portugal's digital nomadic visa?

The main requirement to be able to apply to this visa is to have had for the last three months an average monthly income equivalent to four times the national minimum wage in Portugal, which is currently EUR 705 (USD 745) per month. That is, average income of at least EUR 2820 (USD 2,981) per month.
Keep in mind that the Government approved the increase in the minimum wage to EUR 760 (USD 803) as of January 1, 2023. They are EUR 55 (USD 58) more with respect to the current minimum wage.
The rest of the requirements varies according to freelancers or entrepreneurs:

Have a contract or written proposal of service provider for liberal professions.
Have original and current passport.
Have travel insurance.
Present Criminal Background Certificate.
Declaration of the competent authorities in which the professional competence for the referred activity is certified.
👉 For entrepreneurs or business owners are the following requirements:
- Have a contract signed with a startup incubator in Portugal.
- Present financial means test available to start a business in the country.
- Have travel insurance.
- Process Certificate of Criminal Background.
All these requirements are mandatory and are subject to changes according to their country of origin.
What validity does the visa have?
This program will enter into force on October 30, 2022 and will allow them to remain up to a year in the country, but there is the possibility of extending the validity of the visa for up to five years. This is a great advantage because it can be a path to obtain permanent residence.

How to request the digital nomadic visa?
