Hotmart, the marketing and distribution platform for digital products, has just reached the mark of 26 million users, celebrating 10 years of operation. So we asked them about their performance and here’s what they shared with us.

The startup offers solutions for content creators to transform their knowledge and passions into digital products, such as online courses, e-books, subscriptions, podcasts, among others.

Currently, it has its headquarters in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and subsidiaries in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Spain, the United States, France and the United Kingdom; reports a catalog of more than 370,000 products; generate sales in more than 188 countries and receive payments in 13 currencies.

Globally, Hotmart reported revenue growth of 167% in 2020. The number of new products making first sales grew 74% in the pandemic.

And so far in 2021 they have made more than 400 hires, just as they have more than 400 open vacancies for different areas such as marketing, finance, business development and technology.

The most popular niches are linked to topics such as business and career; sports and wellness; education; finance; relationship and personal development.

As for their figures in Colombia, they reported that producers grew by 69% between the first and second semesters of 2020. Likewise, buyers grew by 169% between the first semester of 2020 and the same period of 2019, due to the pandemic.

And for the second half of 2020, they reported that 70% of buyers of Colombian products were foreigners. The most popular niches in Colombia are business and career; Personal development; education; health and sport; and finances.

Therefore, if we talk about daily figures, in one day Hotmart declares to have more than 39,000 people registering on the platform; more than 3,000 products are created; users spend more than 220,000 hours watching content (Club); and more than 28,000 buyers are certified.

Additionally, it indicated that in 2020 it doubled the volume of transactions carried out on its platform compared to 2019 and bought three relevant companies in the sector: Wollo, Klickpages and Teachable. Also, at the end of March this year, Hotmart strengthened its status as a unicorn company by receiving an investment of $135 million dollars in its Series C fundraising round, led by the US fund TCV.
